Fantastic Mr Fox
My regular newsletter of Animateclay.com had some nice news lately and I'm going to spread one of their posts a bit more.
There will be a new animated feature in theatres soon: Fantastic Mr Fox is based on Roald Dahl's book with the same title. Its premiere seem to be at the London Film Festival on October 14. The pictures look very promising and they have a couple of wonderful voices (see imdb.com for details). It's great to see people do stop motion feature films in times when the critics say this genre is supposed to be dead...
Hopefully it won't take as long as Coraline took to make its way into German theatres....
Aaaand: One day left to Coraline!
False. Following filmstarts.de it'll be released on August 13. Great. Really great. I'm going to buy the DVD.

That's exactly why I'm excited to see it! But today, if nothing goes wrong, it's Coraline day and I'm very, very excited about that...

I saw the trailer to Fantastic Mister Fox at the cinema last weekend – I have to say the animation did not look so great. But in a way that might be nicer than the "perfection" of, say, Corpse Bride. I will look forward to seeing the full movie, to see if the cruder style works.
