Coraline

Back in February, when Coraline was released to American audiences, I searched for the German release date and found somewhere May 28th (though I actually can’t remember where). I marked the page in my calender and from then, I was very excited. Very excited.

Today I had a look for cinemas screening it and found... nothing. For some unknown reasons I have to wait two more months until it’ll be released in Germany... This is way toooo long. I'm so much looking forward to see it! First, I was so happy that it would be released after my graduation at the end of may so I could and would have a clear mind to really enjoy it. But, honestly, 30 July? This can’t be true! I thougt that would be the DVD’s release day?! Hmpf... I’m disappointed. (Well, by the way, the true German premiere was at the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart, the biggest and best known German animation festival, but I wasn't there because of my final exams...)

I’m now counting days to the end of July: 62 days left...

This is a day earlier than here in Pappnasenhausen, but anyway - it will be shown here, which wasn't very sure...

I managed to see Coraline last weekend - it was very good (and not by Tim Burton - I thought it was, for some reason).

I thought we in the UK had it bad as we must wait for two months or so after the US release date - but for mainland Europe it is even worse! I think it must be the 30km of water between us that holds the movies up...

I'm really, really looking forward to it! But still, two months left... Michael, when will it be released in Austria? Later as in Germany is hardly possible...
Simon, you're right: it's only 30km... And BlueRayDisc release in USA will be around 21 July, ten days before the German cinema release... How did you liked it?
Yes, Justin, that was what I thought. I just saw the website and everything looked so ... completed.

Late, but yes - one day after Germany. As always a bit behind the time (english grammar ?!). And in 3D ! Wow. I missed 'Nightmare before Christmas' inthe cinemas - back then I wanted to see it, was too late and watched another film, I never heard about (Pulp Fiction...). Then Corpse Bride - completely missed it. Then 'Curse of the Wererabbit' - can't remember that I even saw a film poster. But now - I'll become a full-pro nerd :)

After you managed to raise my interest in that movie last weekend:
Saw it tonight; enjoyed it. Even managed to gather up some colleagues -- we were all surprised that it is FSK 6 only.
On our way home, one of my colleagues managed to drop a button of her coat. We were happy to find it afterwards...
